Kibera Hamlets Reality Tours

Kibera Hamlets Reality Tours and Humanitarian Service Projects.Experience a side of Kenya unseen and untouched by most tourists.

Realizing that most tourists in Kenya visit only the beautiful beaches and enjoy the exotic wildlife, our Reality Tours and Humanitarian Service Projects allow tourists to see what daily life is like for millions of Kenyans who live in slums.

Join us, youth from Kibera, to learn about how we are working to improve our lives and communities in Africa’s second largest slum and take part in one of our many humanitarian service projects.

Become Inspired: By joining us for a reality tour, you will leave Kibera feeling educated and inspired by the strength, resilience and integrity of young men and women who spend their days engaging in a process of development that works.

We offer two types of tours: Reality Walking Tours include a guided walk through one Kibera community and provide you with the opportunity to talk directly with youth members of our group, learn about the challenges we face and the programs that we have established to deal with these challenges. These tours last approximately two hours.

Humanitarian Service Projects allow you to spend a day, or half day working along side us in our youth empowerment projects. You have many opportunities to choose from: you can coach soccer and drama, teach English or music in our nursery or primary school, take part in one of our seminars in youth leadership, HIV/AIDS or violence prevention, assist us in garbage collection, tree planting, or recycling, make crafts and jewellery with women, or assist us in one of our construction projects.

All proceeds from Kibera Hamlets Tours go to our school feeding program. Reality Tours and Humanitarian Service Projects cost KSH.2000  per person. You will also have the opportunity to purchase crafts and jewellery made by women in Kibera.
